Frequency's mission is real community for everyone, so the important parts are free, forever. The Quest on top is where membership comes in.
As you take part, the Quest's rewards (Zaps, Gems, milestones) accrue for everyone into a personal, non-resetting Vault. You're always "playing," even before you're a member; the rewards just sit safely in your Vault.
To claim what's in your Vault (spend Gems, compete in the live season, and show your rank publicly) you need an active membership. That paid personal tier is Crew: one honest price, and Member joins free, so you take part long before you ever pay. Hosts can also grant access to a Circle member who can't pay, so cost never keeps someone out.
Either way, everything you earn keeps building: your Gems, your season trophies, and your Amplitude (the lifetime total behind your rank that never resets). What Gems actually buy (cosmetics, titles, collectible badges, membership credits) is covered in Spending Gems in the Vault Store.
Everything you earned in the free beta stays yours. Crew is the paid personal tier, and the only one: $9 a month, or $90 a year. It lives on the upgrade page. If you want to put more in, the Supporter badge on the same page lets you back the Foundation for whatever amount you choose.
