Channels are the focus areas Frequency is organized around. Every Circle declares one Channel, so you can explore by what you're into, not just where you are. A Channel holds the Circles practicing it, a forum feed, and an open room. Some Channels also run a Program you can start a Chapter of (see below).
Hosts pick the Channel when they start a Circle, and can change it any time from the Circle's settings.
The founding topics
The platform-curated Channels are:
- Spirituality
- Movement
- Holistic Health
- Human Relating
- Activism
- Creative
- Business Support
Using Channels
- Browse the Channels page to explore a topic and see the Circles within it.
- Each Circle belongs to one Channel, which tells you at a glance what it's about.
- Looking for something specific near you? Pair a Channel with the location search in the people & Circles directory.
The open room
- Every Channel has one open room, a live chat for the whole topic, even if you're not in a related Circle.
- Anyone can read it; tune into the Channel to post. Open it from the Open room button on the Channel, or from your Messages (you'll see the rooms for Channels you're tuned into).
Programs and Chapters
Some Channels run a Program: a community model with a blueprint anyone can start locally. Each local group is a Chapter, a regular Circle that runs the Program's model in its own city.
- On a Program's Channel page you'll see Chapters of the Program instead of a plain Circle list. Tap Near me to sort them by distance, or Start a Chapter to run one where you live.
- Full details: Programs and Chapters.
- Run a business Space and want a Program of your own? See run a Program.
The founding topic Channels are curated by the platform team, so that list stays focused and meaningful.
