Buying, selling & sharing

Frequency has a few places where the community trades, shares, and finds what it needs. There are a few areas: Classifieds to swap or give things away, Housing for rentals and roommates, the Market where members and businesses sell, Events for paid and free gatherings nearby, and the Frequency Store for Frequency's own merch and passes. The area bar at the top moves you between them, and each area opens with a search bar right under the banner.

Classifieds and Housing are no-fee and connect-only. No money changes hands in the app. You reach the person and arrange the rest offline.

Classifieds

• Open Classifieds at /classifieds to see what's around.
• Filter by type: Offering, Free, To lend, or Looking for.
• Tap Near me to sort by distance using your device location. The closest show first.
• Post a listing with a title, a type, and a few details. Add a price in plain words ("$20", "a trade", "free"). There's no checkout. Edit it anytime, or mark it claimed or closed when it's done.

Housing

• Open Housing to browse rentals, sublets, and rooms with a roommate.
• Browse by category along the top (house, apartment, room, and more), or open Roommates for matches. Narrow further by price and amenities in the filters.
• List housing with the type, the rent, and the basics. Contact stays in messages, like Classifieds.
• Find a roommate opens roommate matches in two tabs: Rooms shows places looking for a roommate, and People shows other members searching too. Tell us your budget, city, and how you like to live, and the Resonance engine suggests matches, the same matching that powers introductions. It is opt-in, so you stay in control.
• Each match says why it fits in plain words, like "Budget fits" or "Similar lifestyle," next to the overall match. Your budget and answers stay private; matches only ever see the match itself.
• Tap the heart on any home to keep it, then open Saved at the top of Housing to come back to your list. If you listed a place, you can now edit it from its page.

Events

• Open Events to see paid and free gatherings nearby, from community Circles and Hosts.
• Search from the top, then filter by category, date, price, and more, and sort by soonest, most going, or nearest.
• RSVP to a free event or grab a ticket for a paid one. It shows up in your account.

Market and Frequency Store

• The Market is where members and businesses sell. Open a storefront to list your first product, then manage it and set up payouts from My storefront.
• The Frequency Store is Frequency's own store for merch, event passes, and retreats.
• Anything you buy shows up under My orders in your account menu.

On a listing

• Contact the seller opens a message and, if you want, lets you make an offer. The seller sees it in their messages. The highest offer so far shows on the listing so everyone knows where things stand. No payment happens in the app; you arrange that offline.
• Item details on the right spell out the specifics the seller added, like condition, brand, or size.
• Pickup area shows the general spot on a map. The exact address stays private until the seller shares it with you, so a listing never puts someone's front door on a public page.
• QR & Link gives you a code and a link that open the listing directly, handy for sharing it.

Making contact

• A Classifieds or Housing listing links to the poster's profile, where you can reach out and arrange the details.
• Every listing has a Questions box. Ask in the open and the answer helps the next person too. The poster can reply there and add anything the listing left out. Keep it kind and local. This is mutual support first.

Claiming a listing

Sometimes Frequency posts a Classifieds or Housing listing for a neighbor and reaches out so they can take it over. If that's you, open the link we send, sign in, and the listing becomes yours to edit or close. A listing still waiting for its owner shows an Unclaimed tag on its card until someone claims it.

A note on privacy

Distance sorting works from your device location and shows only an approximate distance. Frequency never publishes your exact address or a listing's precise coordinates.

Housing listings add one more dial: address precision. Your listing shows the city by default. You can choose to add the neighborhood, or share the street address, and the street address is only ever shown to signed-in members. Search engines and link previews always get the city, nothing closer.
