Sign inJoin the BetaHow Zaps move you up the ranks each season.
Ranks are your standing in the current season of The Quest, earned by showing up, especially in person. They're driven by Zaps (see Zaps & Gems).
You climb as you earn season Zaps:
The first five advance automatically as your Zaps add up. Luminary is a recognition, not just a number.
A season runs for a stretch, then resets so everyone gets a fresh start. When it does, your season Zaps convert into Gems at 5 to 1, plus a one-time bonus for the rank you finished at: the durable, spendable currency that sticks with you. Everyone who played also gets a season trophy stamped with their final rank and Zaps. So the season is the "doing," and Gems and trophies are what you keep.
Your season rank goes back to Ghost each reset, but every Zap you've ever earned feeds Amplitude, your lifetime total. It only ever goes up. Hosting-class acts (hosting, running a program, founding or activating a circle) count double toward it. You'll see it next to your rank, like "Beacon · 14,200", and crossing big totals (1,000, then 5,000, and beyond) mints a permanent Award into your Vault.
